We are excited to partner in launch an initiative that matches the skills of staff from local businesses with volunteer-based organizations!
Skill-sharing between the sectors can help build our community together.
Community organizations have great information, connections to the community, and a great depth of focus in specific areas. Their staff have a breadth of education, experience, and expertise in dealing with complex social problems.
Develop a corporate culture that contributes to employee engagement and productivity.
Providing time for employees to volunteer cultivates enhanced or additional skills development. And, 68% of Canadians say, given the choice between two jobs, they would choose the one at the company with the stronger volunteering culture. (2017 Volunteer Canada/ Ipsos Public Affairs). Giving back to the community is a positive way to create awareness of your business brand, too.
Here’s just a few suggestions on how staff from businesses can help:
- Remote calling/call centre
- Fundraising
- Project management expertise
- Accounting, bookkeeping expertise
- Technical expertise

- Social media/marketing/ advertising expertise

Business owners, their staff, and nonprofit organizations can apply through our forms below. The information will be shared between Volunteer Central and the Red Deer Chamber of Commerce to find the best match. Once the match is made, both the business and the non-profit organization will be contacted and provided with additional details.
