Position / Placement: Summer Student – Receiving and Production Worker
Goals and Purpose of Position

Provide client service and assistance in reaching donations from public at large
Major Responsibilities:
Responsibilities for the Production Worker include, but are not limited to the following actions:
-
Providing assistance in receiving donations of used goods from the public
-
Loading and unloading carts / bins / boxes / bags effectively move and handle merchandise, and lift various objects and weights on an ongoing basis

Inspecting clothes and other items
-
Classifying items based upon manufacturer, quality and condition levels
-
Deliver merchandise to secondary sorting areas
-
Cleaning and preparing items for the sales floor
-
Sorting and pricing products
-
Working safely and efficiently
-
Prepping and organizing products for recycling and store in recycle area
-
Assist in loading weekly recycling picked up by Goods Trading Services
-
Participate in the pricing and tagging of various merchandise as required
-
Keeping work area neat and clean
Qualifications:

Able to follow instructions from the Team Lead or experienced volunteer
-
Client service oriented
-
Problem solver, adaptable, able to multitask
-
Personable, patient
-
Able to work effectively within a diverse volunteer-based organization
-
Comfortable working with people of varying socioeconomic backgrounds, lifestyle orientation and international diversity

Able to stand for long periods of time as well as lift various weights and objects
