Reading Pals Program Announces Internship Program
Nov 26, 2014
For many years, Red Deer Public Library has offered a free, fun tutoring program called Reading Pals. The Reading Pals program is aimed at elementary school children (grades 1-6) including ESL learners, who are experiencing reading and/or writing difficulties.
The Library is pleased to be running this program again in January, March and April of 2015 and is currently seeking volunteers to provide 10 hours a month to help improve reading skills. They are looking for High School or adult volunteers to work as tutors with 1-2 students for one or more months. No special education is needed, and full training is provided.
It is with great excitement that they'd like to announce a NEW initiative for Grade 12's and Post-Secondary Students!!!
They are offering internships with Volunteer Alberta, in which you can earn $1000 towards your post-secondary tuition.
